Mike Barnhill, Deputy Commissioner

 Mike Barnhill serves as deputy commissioner for the Department of Administration, a diverse agency of 13 divisions that provides both support services to state government and direct service for Alaskans. Mike manages seven divisions ranging from Finance, Retirement and Benefits, to the Office of Public Advocacy and Public Defender Agency.

Mike has been a practicing attorney in Alaska for 17 years, first in private practice and for 12 years with the Department of Law, where he served as an assistant attorney general.

Mike lives in Juneau with his wife Peggy and their three children.
