  Digital Driver License Information

On May 11th, 2004, Alaska DMV started issuing Digital Driver License's and State Identification Cards.  All State DMV offices are now issuing Digital Driver License's.

Please be aware that the license's issued prior to the new style are still valid and that there is no requirement to change to the new style license before the expiration date of your current license.

FEATURES OF THE DIGITAL DRIVER LICENSE:

Alaska is typed in White Font.  It is on a background showing Mt. McKinley (Denali).  The license number is in black font in the upper right corner of the picture.

The applicants full name, address, city, state and zip are on the next 3 lines, justified to the left.  This is in black font.

There is a stripe that separates the picture from the rest of the applicant information.  This shows the type of license or identification card.   The stripe is a different color, depending on what class of license is issued.
