  Driver License & Reinstatement Fees

DRIVER LICENSE FEES:

  • Commercial (A/CDL, B/CDL, C/CDL) - $100.00
  • Driver / Motorcycle (D, M1, M2) - $20.00
  • Instruction Permit (IA, IB, IC, IE, IM, IP) - $15.00 Original; $5.00 Renewal
  • State ID Card (ID) - $15.00  (Free to applicants 60 or older)

NOTE:  Duplicates for the above are issued at a fee of $15.00 per item.

REINSTATEMENT FEES:

  • One action   (Cannot be DUI related) - $100.00
  • One DUI  (No other actions) - $200.00
  • One DUI plus one other action - $250.00
  • Two actions (Cannot be DUI related) - $250.00
  • Two DUI's - $500.00

NOTE:  DUI = Driving Under the Influence

OTHER FEES:

  • Alcohol Restricted License or ID - $50.00
  • Limited License Application Fee - $100.00
  • Driving Record - $10.00
  • Passenger and Motorcycle Road Test - $15.00
  • Renewal by Mail:  Non-Commercial - $21.00; Commercial - $101.00
  • Commercial Road Test - $25.00
  • Temporary Driver License - $5.00
  • Knowledge (Written) Test - No fee to take the test.

Please be aware that the Alaska DMV does not accept non-personalized checks.  Your name and address must be pre-printed on any check to be acceptable.
