Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) Statement

The Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) administers all programs and activities free from discrimination based on race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, marital status, pregnancy, parenthood, or disability. The division administers all programs and activities in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.

Privacy Statement

Applicability

This online privacy policy applies only to information collected through our website and not to information collected offline.

What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you place an order or request an online service.

When placing an order or requesting an online service on the DMV web site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, mailing address, phone number, credit card information or other personal identifying information.

What do we use your information for?

The information we collect from you may be used to process your requested transaction.

Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other parties without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested or as allowed for by United States Code: Title 18, Chapter 123, Section 2721(b).

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We comply with the requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998); we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age.

The DMV website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

Use of cookies.

When you visit the DMV web site, you can browse the site anonymously and access important information without revealing your identity. DMV may use "cookies" in order to facilitate the delivery of online services. A cookie is small amount of data that is transferred to your browser by a web server and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. It cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses.
