Unless otherwise listed, the office hours vary depending on whether they are staffed by part-time DMV employees or operated by a contract agent.

JUNEAU - STATE DMV OFFICE

  • Non-commercial passenger vehicle: Daily.  Morning and afternoon.
  • Motorcycle: Wednesday mornings.
  • Commercial: Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
KNOWLEDGE TESTS:
  • Must start test by 4:00.
  • Must pass test by 4:30 to be issued a permit or license.
VEHICLE INSPECTIONS:  Inspection must be completed by 4:30 to be issued a title.

  • Non-commercial passenger vehicle: Tuesday morning and afternoon.
  • Commercial: Tuesday morning and afternoon. The last day of the year for CDL road testing will be November 20th, 2012 and will resume April 16th, 2013 (weather permitting).
KNOWLEDGE TESTS
  • Must start test by 3:30.
  • Must pass test by 4:00 to be issued a permit or license.

FURTHER INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO THIS OFFICE:
  • When one person is out of the office, the office must close during the lunch hour.
  • NOTICE:  This office is located in the same building as the Court; therefore, you must go through a security check in order to enter the DMV.  Please make sure you have all required documents before entering the building.  For individuals taking a road test, this means the current vehicle registration, current vehicle insurance and your driving permit or knowledge test scores.
  • *Motorcycle tests are conducted in the spring, summer and fall.  The course must be clear of all ice, snow and water.
