The Information Technology Section is responsible for the design, maintenance and delivery of the state's recruitment system, workforce planning demographics and data, grievance tracking, training registration and the division's web presence. The section also maintains two fully functional computer labs in Anchorage and Juneau.
The State of Alaska advertises its vacant positions, solicits and accepts applications, evaluates and then selects applicants using a fully online computer system named WorkPlace Alaska.
Written in Lotus Notes, WorkPlace Alaska is an award-winning, innovative approach to vacancy based recruitment.
Workforce data, performance evaluation due dates and demographic reports are available through WorkPad, Alaska's Workforce Planning and Development system. This confidential, web-enabled data reporting system uses current payroll and position information for various formatted and ad hoc reports.
The system is currently available to registered users only.
LearnAlaska is an interactive, student self-service training registration, accounting and reporting system.
Students can enroll, be approved, cancel and substitute their enrollment in classes scheduled by the Training and Development section. Attendance is tracked and transcripts of completed and pending training are available online.
