Supervisory Unit (SU) Employees
The new leave provisions for SU bargaining unit members (contained in the July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016 SU contract) are covered below:

Maximum Accumulation of Leave
Effective December 16, 2013 the maximum accumulation of leave is 1000 hours on December 15th of each year. Department heads may allow an employee to carry over more than 1000 hours if the employee was unable to reduce accrued leave hours due to extenuating circumstances as defined in article 29.1.E of the SU contract.
Exemption from Maximum Accumulation of Leave
A bargaining unit member with a personal leave balance greater than 400 hours on December 16, 2013 will be exempt from the maximum accumulation of leave until the member’s leave balance is equal to or less than 400 hours on December 16th of any subsequent year.
Note: Division Directors or their designee will notify employees with leave balances greater than 400 hours. Employees may also obtain their leave balance as of December 16, 2013 from their paystub for the pay period ending December 15, 2013 or by calling the Employee Call Center at 465-3009.
Mandatory Leave Requirements
On December 16, 2013 any bargaining unit member with a personal leave balance greater than 400 hours will be required to use 112.5 hours of leave in the 2014 leave year (from December 16, 2013 to December 15, 2014).
On December 16, 2013 any bargaining unit member with a personal leave balance equal to or less than 400 hours will be required to use 75 Hours of leave in the 2014 leave year (from December 16, 2013 to December 15, 2014).
Flextime Credits and Mandatory Leave
The use of flextime credits do not count toward the mandatory leave requirements. In addition, flextime credits cannot be used until the mandatory leave requirements have been met.
Leave Cash-in Hours Counting Toward Mandatory Leave
Leave cashed in can only reduce the mandatory leave requirement by 37.5 hours.
Flextime Credits - Accrual Limits
Flextime credits may accumulate to a maximum of 200 hours at any given point in time. There is no yearly limit.
Leave Cash-in Limits
Leave cash-ins are limited to six per leave year (from December 16th to December 15th of a given year).
Leave Accrual Rates
For bargaining unit members hired for the first time into leave accruing positions on or after July 1, 2013 the following accrual rates will apply:

Note: The accrual rates for bargaining unit members hired before July 1, 2013 remain unchanged.
Floating Holiday Credit (15 Years of Service)
Bargaining unit members (hired before July 1, 2013) with 15 or more years of leave accruing service on July 16th of a given year will receive a floating holiday credit of 7.5 hours in the pay period ending July 31st providing the employee is in pay status the working day before and after the holiday or actually worked on the holiday.
