State of Alaska

Dear State Employees,

Thank you for your continued service to Alaskans as we all work together to slow the spread of COVID-19. The work you do, whether it's in the office or in the Alaska's communities, is critical to the Alaska that we all care about. Your commissioner and I have been in constant contact about your health and safety, and I assure you that it is a top priority as we all work through the state's response to COVID-19.

I encourage you to work with your supervisor and leadership team to discuss telework options that might work for your position. If you are in a higher risk group, such as Alaskans over 60 years old or if you have underlying health conditions, please communicate with your supervisor to find a unique solution that will help keep you healthy.

I have directed my Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner, Dr. Tamika L. Ledbetter to work with each department to identify processes and tools to keep all employees healthy over the coming weeks as we see more COVID-19 cases in our state. You will be hearing more from her over the coming weeks.

Again, I truly appreciate the work you are doing, especially under the challenging circumstances we are facing today.

Thank you for your service,

Governor Mike Dunleavy
