Onsite Individual Health Coaching Program
Starting May 1, AlaskaCare, in partnership with ActiveHealth Management, is kicking off the Onsite Individual Health Coaching Program. This is an opportunity for you to meet one on one with your coach to talk about your own specific wellness goals at no cost to you. You can sign up with your coach the day of the event.

Gail Waltzer, MPH

Gail Waltzer has Master of Public Health degree with a specialization in Health Promotion. She has lived in Alaska since 1999 where she has provided wellness coaching to various populations. As a Certified Wellness Coach, Gail has helped many people establish self-directed, individualized wellness goals. Gail also coaches medically referred patients in behavior change strategies to control diabetes, reduce weight, reduce cholesterol levels, and manage stress. As your Health and Wellness Coach, Gail can provide tools for you to create and reach your own individual wellness goals.
Judy Ellenburg, MS Nutrition

Judy Ellenburg's passion for nutrition began while finishing her undergraduate degree in science at the University of Guelph in Ontario. Her search for a whole-foods, naturopathic approach to nutrition took her to Bastyr University in Washington where she earned a Master of Science in Nutrition degree. After moving to Alaska, Judy provided nutrition education in clinics and health clubs. Her journey eventually took her into the setting of "work place wellness" where she began focusing on cultivating healthful work environments and assisting individuals in making everyday a healthy day. Judy's ultimate goal is to encourage individuals and communities to make small lifestyle changes that affect their overall health in a very positive way.
Wellness Team Leaders
Jennifer Dalton is the Wellness Coordinator for AlaskaCare and is, in coordination with ActiveHealth Management, responsible for implementing and coordinating our wellness programs such as Weight Watchers At Work and other activities for employees. Jennifer has worked with the AlaskaCare Health Plan since 2007, first with Premera Blue Cross and then with Wells Fargo/HealthSmart for whom she performed claim audits, conducted research for members, and trained staff. She joined the Division of Retirement and Benefits in 2013. Jennifer is working toward a degree in Health Information Management at the University of Alaska Southeast, which she plans to complete this spring. As part of the wellness team, Jennifer hopes to help put programs in place which will provide members with a foundation for life-long, healthful habits.
