Prescription Drug Plan

Prescription Drugs

The plan pays for prescription drugs for the treatment of an illness, disease, or injury if dispensed upon prescription of a provider who is licensed to prescribe drugs and is acting within the scope of his or her license.

For the most convenient option and significant discounts to the AlaskaCare plan, you should obtain your prescriptions from a participating retail pharmacy or the mail order pharmacy.

Card Program

You must obtain your prescriptions from a participating pharmacy. You only need to pay your copayment for each prescription. The pharmacy will file a claim for you so that you don’t have to pay for the prescription and file a claim for reimbursement.

Mail Order Program

Costco Mail Order Pharmacy offers you a traditional mail ordering service. To use this service you will submit all new orders and refills by mail or phone. Read more about the Costco traditional mail ordering service.

Online Ordering Program

Costco Mail Order Pharmacy also provides an online ordering service. When using this service, all orders for new prescriptions must be initiated online at Costco.com. Read more about the Costco online mail ordering service.
