Open Enrollment for Active Employees

It’s time for Open Enrollment! The annual Open Enrollment period begins November 6 and ends November 27, 2019. As a State of Alaska employee and AlaskaCare member, you also know that maintaining your and your family’s health is important, and keeps you ready for that next adventure, big or small. Be sure to review your current benefit elections and make changes to your plan selections for the upcoming benefit year. You can choose the right mix of health benefits for you and your family, then embark on your next adventure.

What’s New with Select AlaskaCare Benefits?

  • Office Visit Co-Pay
    If you elect the Standard or Economy medical plan, you can now experience a flat co-pay amount for in-network primary/specialty care office visits. Learn More about this benefit.
  • Simplified Pharmacy Co-Pays
    Effective January 1, 2020 your pharmacy benefits will now be paid at a flat dollar co-pay. Learn about the new pharmacy structure.
  • New ways to extend your dental benefits
    Learn about using dentists that participate in a narrower network to pay money less out-of-pocket. Also, beginning January 1,2020, preventative services will no longer count towards your annual dental maximum!

What’s New with Voluntary Supplemental Benefits for all employees?

  • New Enrollment Platform
    We have a new platform for enrolling in Voluntary Supplemental benefits for 2020! You can access by first logging into the myRnB portal, then click the new Voluntary Supplemental Benefits Open Enrollment 2020 button. This button will take you to the new BenefitFocus enrollment site.
  • Continuing Coverage
    If you are currently enrolled in any Voluntary Supplemental Benefits or Select Life and wish to continue coverage: all benefits may not roll over and you must enroll for the 2020 plan year during the open enrollment period. (Note: Certificated teachers working in a Teachers’ Retirement System covered position and members of Local 71 are ineligible to enroll in the Voluntary Supplemental Benefits Program)
  • Employee Group Life Insurance
    Learn more about group life premiums and plan benefits.
ASEA (General Government) Members Only
  • Please note: ASEA has a separate Open Enrollment for ASEA Health Trust members, and it usually takes place in May or June. Visit the ASEA Health Trust Web site for details. During this enrollment, ASEA members are only eligible for State of Alaska Voluntary Supplemental Benefits.
