Mid-day closure due to inclement weather in Fairbanks on 01/14/2013

Due to weather and road conditions in the Fairbanks area, the following schedule for State offices in the area, effective immediately:

There will be a staggered early dismissal for Fairbanks area employees beginning at 03:20 pm, with approximately one-third of employees of the various offices dismissed at 3:30, 4:00 and 4:30 pm at the discretion of supervisors, with deference given to those who have the farthest to travel. State offices not involved in protecting the health and safety of Alaskans (certain offices of the Departments of Public Safety, Corrections, and the Alaska Pioneer Homes and the Alaska Psychiatric Institute) will be closed at 4:00 pm.

Please use extreme caution while driving. While main roads may be in fair condition, less traveled streets may be extremely slippery.

Improving weather and road conditions are expected to allow all offices to be open during normal business hours tomorrow, 01/15/2013 in Fairbanks.
