A Public Workshop will be held November 1, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC), 333 West 7th Avenue, Anchorage Alaska 99501. The purpose of the workshop is to permit interested parties to provide input to AOGCC staff regarding the regulatory amendments introduced at the AOGCC�s Public Hearing held September 27, 2016.

ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. (CPAI), by application received January 31, 2017, requests the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) approve administrative amendments to Conservation Order 443B (CO 443B) and Area Injection Order 18C (AIO 18C) to allow for the expansion of the Alpine Oil Pool to include the westward development of the Nanuq Kuparuk sands in anticipation of future development for oil production.

On December 15, 2016 the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation (AOGCC) held a hearing on an amendment to 20 AAC 25.280 proposed by Bob Shavelson acting on behalf of Cook Inletkeeper. The AOGCC will hold a second hearing on the proposal to amend 20 AAC 25.280. The AOGCC is proposing that the following, set forth in bold font, be added to 20 AAC 25.280(f):

An application for Sundry Approvals for a well proposed for stimulation by hydraulic fracturing as defined in 20 AAC 25.283(m) must also comply with 20 AAC 25.283. The Commission will post the application on its website. If the application contains confidential information the operator shall submit, for this posting, an additional copy of the application with all confidential information redacted. The Commission will accept public comments for 10 days.

The subject of the hearing is AOGCC's proposed enforcement action against NordAq Energy Inc. (NordAq) for failure to permanently abandon the Tiger Eye Central-1 exploratory well before expiration of rights in State of Alaska Oil and Gas Lease ADL 391104, 20 AAC 25.105(a). The surface location for the well lies on private land; and the bottom hole location for the well lies within ADL 391104, Section 24, Township 8 North, Range 15 West, Seward Meridian.

The subject of the hearing is AOGCC's proposed enforcement action against NordAq Energy Inc. (NordAq) for failure to permanently abandon the Shadura-1 exploratory well before expiration of rights in CIRI Oil and Gas Lease C-061648, 20 AAC 25.105(a). Shadura-1 was drilled within Section 23, Township 8 North, Range 10 West, Seward Meridian.

Furie, by letter dated February 8, 2017, requests the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) issue an order for an exception to the spacing requirement of 20 AAC 25.055(a)(4). The KLU #A-4 spacing exception is needed to increase deliverability from the delineated natural gas reservoirs in support of Furie�s southcentral natural gas utility contracts.
