The Board may award the requested amount of compensation and/or type of service on a claim as a Conditional Award. The Board has not, however, determined the claim eligible for additional amounts and/or types of service under this designation. If the claimant requests additional funding, a Conditional Award designation requires the claim to be further reviewed by the Board preceding any additional compensation and/or service.
From time-to-time, the Board may award the requested amount of compensation on a claim as a Conditional Award. The designation of a "Conditional Award" is reserved for those cases in which the Board decides to make an award because the amount of compensation and/or type of service requested seems reasonable, but the Board has not determined the claim eligible for additional amounts and/or types of service. If the claimant returns with a request for additional funding whether for a higher amount of compensation or for compensation of additional services, a Conditional Award designation means the entire case requires further review prior to any additional compensation.
