Funeral Costs
Short Description
The Violent Crimes Compensation Board will consider awarding funeral related costs provided all other related claim criteria are met and the related costs are determined to be actual and reasonable as established in AS 18.67. Items eligible for reimbursement may include memorial or funeral services, headstone, travel, lodging, food, and other expenses related to the death of an eligible crime victim.

Based on AS 18.67, the Violent Crimes Compensation Board may award funeral related costs provided all of the following applies:
- All other related claim criteria are met;
- The claimant submits a verifiable death certificate:
- The related costs are determined to be actual and reasonable as established in AS 18.67; and
- All requirements under AS 18.67 to establish dependency and relationship have been met.
