Funeral Related Costs

The Board may pay the following expenses associated with attending the funeral of the victim of a violent crime: airfare, ground transportation, and lodging for immediate family members only. Immediate family members are defined as spouse, domestic partner, parent(s) or children. Meal expenses will be reimbursed only on production of receipts, up to a maximum of $50 per day where the travelers are staying in hotel accommodation. Travelers will be required to share hotel rooms wherever possible. No more than one week's worth oflost wages will be paid to any person travelling to attend the funeral of a victim of violent crime, regardless of where the funeral is held. Verification of employment and pay must be received from the employer.
