New Absence Management and Employee Relations Sections
As part of the HR Transformation project two new sections have been established in the Division of Personnel and Labor Relations; Absence Management and Employee Relations. Both sections are working on getting set up and establishing consistent, efficient processes moving forward.
Absence Management
The Absence Management section is reviewing and processing Family Medical, Military, and Workers’ Compensation leaves for the following departments: DOA, DOLWD, DCCED, DOR, DEED, DOL, DOC, DPS, and DMVA. As we build the foundation for our section, we are examining and evaluating current processes, determining workflows, and looking at ways to streamline the flow of information. We are presently updating leave forms, the Absence Management webpage, and determining educational needs for all employees and supervisors.
We are excited to be a part of establishing a new section for the State of Alaska. Professionally, we are learning, growing, and building a strong sense of a team!

Employee Relations
Employee Relations is a robust, one-stop shop specializing in all components of performance management. This includes consulting on and processing performance evaluations, assisting with disciplinary and non-disciplinary corrective actions, conducting investigations, preparing letters of agreement, and more! The Employee Relations team is working hard to fill vacancies and connect agencies with their consultants on the Employee Relations team. Go to the Employee Relations contact list for HR Consultants assigned to your agency. We welcome the opportunity to connect with our clients and encourage you to reach out just to meet your consultant(s), invite us to division/section meetings for training and introductions, or to get questions answered.

Updates Coming Soon on HR Projects
If you have not heard the Division of Personnel and Labor Relations is currently working on a variety of exciting projects to create efficiencies and increase opportunities for employees. As we continue moving forward with these efforts there will be more updates coming out to notify of new opportunities or new processes being implemented.

Update to the Employee Affidavit Form
The Employee Affidavit form has been updated to no longer require the Department Representative signature. In looking at this form we realized that there was no reason to have anyone besides the employee sign the form and decided to remove a level from the signature process. This update was made in March and is currently available on the Division of Personnel and Labor Relations website.
