The Learning Hour DOPLR Pilot
The Division of Personnel & Labor Relations is extremely excited to pilot our first ever Learning Hour. Many recent surveys have shown that one of the driving factors in workplace happiness is having opportunities for learning and development. So, what does this mean for you?
- Who? DOPLR employees will get to spend an hour learning something new through our Learning Management System (LMS) AspireAlaska.
- When is this happening? The week of October 25th
- How does it work? Plan to spend an hour this week learning something new in AspireAlaska. This could be a course that may help you personally or professionally.
- Give me some suggestions! There are so many great courses in AspireAlaska, some highlights are Communication Toolkit Series, Chair Work – Yoga, Fitness and Stretching at your desk, EI: Personal and Professional, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Suite Trainings
The most important part of our Learning Hour is to learn something valuable for you!
Introducing the New Performance Evaluation Form
The following email was sent out to all SOA Employees on 9/28/21. As of now the Performance Management Curriculum is available in AspireAlaska and has been sent out specifically to supervisors to allow them first access. We will be sending the curriculum to all State Employees by the end of the month. If you have questions about the new performance form or process please email Ask.SOAHR@alaska.gov. For anyone having issues accessing AspireAlaska please email AspireAlaska@alaska.gov.
I am excited to announce that the State of Alaska will be transitioning to a new form and process for performance evaluation. Most State employees will be transitioning to the improved form and process, starting in January 2022.
The new Performance Management and Learning Development (PMLD) form is tailored to better support employees’ professional development by facilitating goal setting and continued learning opportunities. These development tools will help employees and supervisors thrive in their roles and progress in their careers while enabling them to best support their unit’s objectives and their department’s mission.
State employees will transition to the new form beginning January 1, 2022 and the Division of Personnel and Labor Relations (DOPLR) will be hosting role-specific training in several formats over the next several months to prepare employees and supervisors for the change. Any performance evaluation due on or after January 1, 2022 will need to be on the new PMLD form. During the rest of 2021 instructions will be provided for how to submit the new form and plan for the next year’s performance expectations.
DOPLR will be sharing more details as we approach the end of this year, as well as training opportunities, town halls, and resources for employees and supervisors. For now, please visit the Performance Evaluation SharePoint site, contact your Department’s Human Resource Business Partner (HRPB) for more information, or email Ask.SOAHR@alaska.gov. If you do not know who your HRBP is, please visit the HRBP Contact information webpage.
Payroll Services Moved to DOF
In September Payroll Services section officially moved to the Division of Finance. With that move all of the Payroll Services webpages have been transitioned over to the Division of Finance website. Please make sure if you have created any bookmarks or shortcuts to Payroll Services information that you update those to point to the new locations. Over the next couple of months we will be working on updating the links to the forms and other items, so please look out for more updates.
If you run into any links to the old Payroll Services pages please email doa.dop.dopwebmaster@alaska.gov.
Family Leave Moves to Absence Management
As part of the move of Payroll Services, the location for the Family Leave information has been moved to Absence Management. If you have old links to the Family Leave information please try and update them to point to the new location under Absence Management.
