Duplicate Alaska Driver License
Help! I lost my license. What do I do?
To obtain a duplicate Alaska driver license, you may apply online or in person at your local DMV office and:
- Fill out form D1
- Provide two pieces of identification, if available
(see primary and secondary documents) - Pass a vision test
- Have a new photo taken
- Pay a duplication fee: $15
I’m out of state and have lost my license! What do I do?
You can apply for an online duplicate license and have a temporary license emailed right to your email! This will be processed within 1-2 business days.
I’m out of state and can’t go to the DMV. What do I do?
If you are an Alaska Resident whose license is expiring and you are temporarily out of state and are unable to renew on-line, an Out-of-State Temporary paper license can be emailed to you to allow time to renew your license. The fee is $5.00. Apply On-line Here.
- Non-commercial temporary license – license cannot be expired over 1 year.
- CDL temporary license is limited to 30 days and cannot extend beyond 30 days of the license’s expiration.
- Temporary licenses may have a photo but be prepared for additional screening if using it as identification for travel.
