AspireAlaska Reports and Dashboard
Reports and Dashboards are now available for Supervisors and Admin Staff in AspireAlaska. To help supervisors and division admin staff to keep track of both performance and learning requirements we have opened access to standard reports, dashboards, and reporting 2.0.
- Standard Reports: These are pre-built reports that allow specific filters to be applied.
- Dashboards: This is where users can get a big picture overview of multiple charts in one space.
- Reporting 2.0: This is the custom or ad hoc reporting functionality in AspireAlaska that allows users to view reports built by others or build their own (depending on their access).
Supervisor Access
Supervisors’ access is granted based on being in a supervisory position within the position hierarchy per IRIS HRM. Supervisors have access to see information about themselves and anyone listed under them in that supervisory hierarchy. For example, a Division Director can see information about themselves, and anyone listed under them which probably includes the whole Division.
Supervisors have access to Standard Reports, Dashboards, and Reporting 2.0. We have given supervisors access to not only view, but also create reports in reporting 2.0. This way if they would like to try to create their own report to help in managing their own employees they can do so.
Admin Staff Access
In addition, we have given the Admin Staff access to view information for their own division. This access is based on the division that the Admin Staff is currently in and the specific class title for the position the employee is appointed. This includes Admin Officers, Admin Assistants, and Executive Secratary in classified positions.
Admin staff have access to Standard Reports, Dashboards, and Reporting 2.0. Due to concern over access to confidential information that admin staff should not view we have limited admin staff to view only for Reporting 2.0. If there is information that you think might be helpful please work with your department’s HRBP.
Reports and Dashboards Job Aid
As part of this increased access to reports and dashboards in AspireAlaska there is a Job Aid to walk through the basic functionality for all these features. The Job Aid Reports and Dashboards is available on the Self Help page within AspireAlaska. Please use this job aid to give you an idea of what is available for reports and dashboards in AspireAlaska.
Supervisor Toolkit: Resources for Performance Management
Retaining and properly training State employees is more important than ever. An effective and proactive performance management strategy can be the difference that takes teams from baseline functionality to high performing units. The Supervisor’s Toolkit continues to grow, with additional resources to give supervisors tools and skills for effective performance management. Start with the Performance Management Guide, then check out the Guide to Writing Instructions and Expectations. To round things out, a Guide to Progressive Discipline outlines steps to take when moving from performance management to the progressive discipline process (Note: these resources are only available on a State network). Please use and share this resource with supervisors. Employee Relations staff are available for consultation on any questions or concerns surrounding performance management and progressive discipline.
Minor Updates to Telework Policy
Minor updates were made to the State of Alaska Telework Policy (PDF). These changes were made to clarify the move of Payroll from the Division of Personnel and Labor Relations and Division of Finance. There was also some clarification on the application of the policy to exempt agencies. This update was posted on July 26, 2022. The forms did not change, and new forms are not required except on the regular 1 year timeframe for in-state telework or 3 months for out of state.
