Scope

As recommended by the Executive Working Group on Recruitment and Retention established under the Administrative Order 237, Fox Lawson & Associates (FLA) is conducting a comprehensive salary study. The study will compare the salaries, health insurance, paid holidays and personal leave accruals for benchmark positions with similar positions within the federal government, other states, municipal government organizations, and private sector employers. The comparison will determine if the State of Alaska is offering salaries and benefits that are within an appropriate competitive range in relation to other competitive employers.

Contract Period

February 3, 2009 – December 31, 2009

Information Updates

The State of Alaska identified 174 benchmark jobs to be included in the comprehensive study and jointly with FLA the labor market was defined. The final results of the data collection were confirmed with an 81% participation rate. FLA will begin an analysis of the data the week of September 7, 2009. We are anticipating receipt of the final report in late November, 2009.
