Address Change Information

ADDRESS UPDATES CANNOT BE MADE FOR 24 HOURS
FOLLOWING ANY ONLINE TRANSACTION

You must update each individual driver license, boat, vehicle, trailer, etc. separately.  Updating one record does not currently update all of your DMV records.

You MUST have an Alaska driver license or ID card to be eligible to update your address on your vehicle or boat record using the Online Address Change System.

  NOTE:  IF YOU RECEIVE AN ERROR MESSAGE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS, this means that your license/ID number is not linked to the specific record you wish to update. You are welcome to request an address update by sending a message to DMV.  Please WAIT for a reply before renewing your registration or ordering personalized license plates.  
   

Please provide the following information to request a change of address:

  • License Plate Number(s) of all vehicles* you own.
    (*Car, Truck, motorcycle, trailer, snowmachine, ATV and boat)
  • Name of Registered Owner(s)
  • Current Mailing Address
  • Current Residence (Physical) Address
  • If you have an Alaska driver license or state ID, please provide your legal name and month/day of birth.  Example:  Joseph License Sample DOB 11/23
  • If your new address is not in Alaska, please provide the reason for the out of state address.  (Military, college student, vacation, moved, etc.)
