The State of Alaska issues titles for: Passenger vehicles, trucks, buses, vans, motorhomes, mobile homes, motorcycles and trailers. Note: Alaska DOES NOT title or register camper shells.
Registration ONLY is issued for: Boats, ATV's and snowmachines.
When you purchase a vehicle, you are required to transfer the vehicle into your name within 30 days of the date of sale.

In addition to Alaska vehicle sales, this information applies to the following:
- To transfer a title from another state, that is in your name, to an Alaska title.
- To transfer a title from another state, that is in another person's name and properly released to you, to an Alaska title.
- To add or remove a vehicle owner on an Alaska title.
- To change the conjunction on an Alaska title.
- When an ALASKA RESIDENT is outside of Alaska due to vacation, military service or pursuing a higher education.
