Airport Check in Reminder for Juneau Travelers
There is a 2-hour check-in requirement at the Juneau International Airport. This is especially important for travelers departing between 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. There are three jets departing within 30 minutes, so it is highly recommended that travelers are checked in and at the airport 2-hours prior to the scheduled departure. Travelers should be in the boarding area at least 30 minutes prior to the departure of the flight.
TSA delays may put you at risk of missing your flight, which may result in a no-show. Carriers have reported an increase in missed flights due to TSA delays. Travelers that no-show, even due to TSA delays, may have their flight itinerary cancelled and value of the ticket forfeited unless the carrier is contacted prior to the scheduled departure.

Please remind travelers to be at the airport at least 2-hours prior to the scheduled departure.

Ravn Alaska Air Agreement
The State of Alaska and Ravn Alaska Air are excited to announce a new discounted rate agreement. The new agreement provides a variable discount off Ravn Alaska flights based on market and fare class, so both the Executive Branch and Medicaid will receive discounts on refundable and non-refundable. Rates and preferred status notifications in designated markets have been updated in E-Travel Online.
FYI - Ravn offers DAYover (Terms and Conditions apply), a free stopover program, that might be beneficial to State workers doing business in multiple cities. For example, an employee in Fairbanks doing business in Anchorage and Cordova may be eligible for a free stop in Anchorage in either direction of travel. Check the terms of the program at FLY RAVN using the link above.
When E-Travel is Optional - Rural Air Carrier Update
A new Rural Air Carrier Agreement was solicited this spring and the list of carriers providing refundable contract fares has been updated. Carriers participating have agreed to charge set rates with no restrictions and have also met all licensing and certificate requirements.
We understand that the preferred carrier listing (see below) may not provide service to specific markets, in which case, other rural carriers may be used. However, if the carrier is not listed below the reservation MUST BE booked via CTM either using the online rural request process or directly with an E-Travel agent. This ensures the carrier requested has met licensing requirements and holds a current and valid certificate. Booking directly with carriers not listed below is a violation of the Travel Service Contract and poses a liability to the State of Alaska.
Only carriers included in the list below can be booked directly.

- Alaska Seaplanes
- Bering Air
